Product Updates, New Features, and Fixes 2024

The Headlines:

Hey everyone, Happy 2024!

Exciting news in our latest release – we’ve sorted out some important bugs to make our system even better. These fixes are all about boosting performance and reliability. Take a look, give them a spin, and let us know how it goes. Here’s to a smooth user experience!

  • Supporting “Hazmat Type” with USPS
  • Bug Fix: Rate Shop with eHub FedEx SmartPost
  • Bug Fix: EDI 997 Document GS01 Segment and GS04 Date Format
  • Bug Fix: Release Backorders with Prior/Current Receipt Distribution Date
  • Bug Fix: Job Duplicate Input/Output Validation

Supporting “Hazmat Type” with USPS

Last year, USPS announced the requirement to send “Hazmat Type” for hazmat items in shipment requests. Infoplus now supports the selection of a “ USPS Hazmat Type” on Item records to comply with this requirement.

On Item records under the “Details” tab, users will notice the field “USPS Hazmat Type.” Clicking the dropdown next to this field will allow the selection of supported USPS hazmat item types. The value of “HAZMAT” must be set to “Yes” in order to select a “USPS Hazmat Type” value.

If a “USPS Hazmat Type” value is 1) selected on an item and 2) shipped on an order using USPS, this data is sent as the “Hazmat Type” to USPS. When a “Hazmat Type” value is sent in a shipment request, the resulting USPS parcel label will contain a service indicator “H” to indicate the package contains hazmat, “HAZMAT - Surface Transportation Only” underneath the return address, and “HAZMAT” after “USPS TRACKING #” above the tracking barcode. Here is an example label:

Please note that Infoplus only provides the ability to send the “Hazmat Type” in shipment calls made to USPS; this value is not sent for any other carrier. Any additional required documentation and labeling for USPS is the responsibility of the shipper to produce.

Bug Fix: Rate Shop with eHub FedEx SmartPost

FedEx SmartPost did not return rates when using eHub; users should now be able to Rate Shop with eHub FedEx SmartPost accounts without issue.

Bug Fix: EDI 997 Document GS01 Segment and GS04 Date Format

Previously, EDI 997 Documents were 1) missing their GS01 segments and 2) incorrectly formatting the year in the GS04 segment. Now, the GS01 segment has the “FA” functional identifier code and the date is formatted correctly in the GS04 segment (YYYYMMDD).

Bug Fix: Release Backorders with Prior/Current Receipt Distribution Date

Backorders were not automatically releasing as intended when an Item Receipt’s Distribution Date was a current or prior date. Backorders will now automatically be released if enough inventory is received with an Item Receipt and the Receipt’s Distribution Date is equal to or before the current date.

Bug Fix: Job Duplicate Input/Output Validation

Previously, Jobs were allowed to be created with duplicate Input or Output SKUs. An error will now be received when creating a Job fitting this scenario.

The Headlines:

In our latest release, we’re happy to announce we’ve introduced a bug fix, a new table, and a new Shopify webhook. Check out the details below!

  • New Table: “Dropship”
  • New Shopify Webhook: “Inventory Items: Create”
  • Bug Fix: ASN Status Evaluation

New Table: “Dropship”

The new “Dropship” table allows for improved visibility and management of order line items with a fulfillment channel of Outside Vendor. When an order is processed through fulfillment and it has a line item with the status of Outside Vendor, a record will be inserted into the Dropship table. Workflows can be built utilizing the Dropship table to manage and track transmission of these orders to the Outside Vendor.

New Shopify Webhook: “Inventory Items: Create”

We’ve made an improvement to our Shopify shopping cart integration with the addition of support for the Shopify webhook “Inventory Items: Create.” Now, every time a new Item is created in Shopify, this webhook will fire and alert Infoplus about this new Item. This prevents issues where inventory synchronization would not identify newly created Items in Shopify if the item already existed in Infoplus and had no activity on it within the inventory synchronization time window. Users do not have to take any action to utilize this webhook; it has already been applied to all Shopify shopping carts.

Bug Fix: ASN Status Evaluation

There was a bug identified where if a line was partially received an ASN so that another Item Receipt was automatically generated to receive the remaining quantity, the ASN status would rarely go to “Received,” when it should have been “Partially Received” since another Item Receipt was created and the full quantity was not yet received. The status would correct itself to “Partially Received” after a short period, but the newly generated Item Receipt could not be received in that short period. This has been fixed so that the ASN status will correctly go to “Received” in this situation every time.

The Headlines:

In our latest release, we’re happy to announce we’ve fixed another bug and added a couple of enhancements.

  • Shopping Cart Connection Inventory Sync for up to 10 Warehouses
  • USP DAP Now Supported
  • Item Serial Scheme Enforced when Shipping via Desktop
  • Bug Fix: LPNs and Perpetual Inventory Log

Shopping Cart Connection Inventory Sync for up to 10 Warehouses

When selecting “Inventory Level Warehouse Controls” - “Specify Warehouses” in a Shopping Cart Connection record, clients will now be able to include up to the 10th warehouse in their site (previously supported up to the 5th warehouse).

UPS DAP Now Supported

Infoplus now supports UPS DAP (Digital Access Program) accounts. These accounts are set up with EasyPost/eHub, and the credentials are set up in Infoplus as a normal UPS parcel account.

Item Serial Scheme Enforced when Shipping via Desktop

When using the “Ship Parcel Order,” “Ship Non-Parcel Order,” or “Execute External Shipment” actions on Order records, if any items on the Order have an Item Serial Scheme requiring outbound serial number recording, an error will now be received, as the serial number must be captured in the Mobile Apps prior to shipping.

Bug Fix: LPNs and Perpetual Inventory Log

When a LPN location is reduced to 0 quantity, Infoplus evaluates this location and deletes it. A bug was causing some depleted LPN locations to still display with quantity values on the Perpetual Inventory Log. This has been addressed, and now LPN locations that have been automatically deleted due to having 0 quantity will not display with quantities on the Perpetual Inventory Log.

The Headlines:

In our latest release, we’re pleased to release an improvement to our Shopify webhook, a new carrier for eHub, and fixes and improvements related to serial numbers.

  • Shopify Item Create webhook failure rate improved
  • eHub New Carrier: UPSMI
  • Item Serial: Unassign when an Order is unfulfilled
  • Block serial number deletion and handle serial number re-receiving

Shopify Item Create webhook high failure rate improved

Improvements have been made to the Shopify inventory_items/create webhook to prevent the removal of the webhook by Shopify.

eHub New Carrier: UPSMI

  • UPSMI can be added to client sites and labels can be created.
  • BPMPARCEL predefined packages are still being worked out by eHub and are unavailable for the time being

Item Serial: Unassign when an Order is unfulfilled

There was an issue with KOD components that require serial numbers. When an order containing a KOD with components that require serial numbers was unfulfilled, the component serial numbers were not being unassigned. This prevented the serial number from being used for future order fulfillment. Now, when an order is unfulfilled, the serial numbers are removed from the order and are able to be used for fulfillment in the future.

Block Serial Number Deletion and Handle Serial Number Re-Receiving

There is a new Item Serial Scheme Configuration “Allow Unique Serial Returns”. Item Serial Schemes that require unique serial numbers prevent users from entering a serial number that already exists in the Item Serial table even if the Item associated with the Serial Number was no longer in Inventory.

When “Allow Unique Serial returns” is set to “True”, users are now able to enter a serial number that already exists in the Item Serial table that is no longer in Inventory and has an Order number attached to it. When the User enters the Serial Number, the existing record in the Item Serial table is updated. The record will now show “In Inventory” as “True” and the Order filed will now be null.

The overall idea of this feature is to allow Items that require unique serial numbers to be re-received into Inventory without having to delete the Serial Number record in the table.

This also prevents Serial Numbers from being deleted that are associated with an Order. Item Serial Numbers can only be deleted if there is no Order associated with the Item Serial record.

In summary, the main points of this story are as follows:

  • Users are only able to delete Item Serial records if they aren’t attached to an order
  • New Item Serial Scheme config, “Allow Unique Returns”
  • If this config is set, users can re-receive “Require Unique” serial numbers only if they have been attached to an order
  • audit when Item Serial is deleted
